Job summary

MedLink Georgia in Colbert, GA is seeking a compassionate Front Desk/Patient Services Coordinator for a Full-time, on-site role. You will schedule appointments, verify insurance, and enter patient data in Athena, while maintaining HIPAA-compliant records and delivering patient-centered service.

As the liaison between patients and providers, you will handle calls, direct inquiries, and assist other staff with clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Answers all calls promptly in a polite and professional manner.
• Schedules appointments for patients and routes inquiries as necessary.
• Schedules new patient and follow-up appointments.
• Captures and enters accurate patient demographic information into Athena.
• Reviews appointment information; date, time, location and provider name with patient.
• Verifies insurance including MCD/MCR and prepares third party insurance forms.
• Maintains confidential patient records following HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
• Directs calls to other departments and health centers as needed.
• Acts as a liaison for the patient and the Patient Service Center.
• Makes reminder calls for appointments and reschedules as needed.
• Provides clerical support to other front line staff and prepares paperwork for patient records.
• Works with Chronic Care Management staff to refer patients as needed.

Education

MOA program or technical school business program

High school diploma with healthcare secretarial experience or 3 years general secretarial experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills
