Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to be the first point of contact, helping patients schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and address inquiries to ensure a smooth patient journey.

You will coordinate with providers and clinic staff, maintain compliant records, and support a positive patient experience through effective communication and organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Customer service experience (any industry), good organizational skills, and kindness.
• Preferred: 12+ months medical office experience; EMR experience; medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out.
• Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
• Verify insurance and explain patient financial responsibilities.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries.
• Obtain vitals and collect lab specimens as needed.
• Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and prescriptions.
• Maintain patient records per HIPAA and guidelines.
• Collaborate with providers, billing, and clinic staff.
• Keep workspace clean and organized; educate patients on policies.
• Coordinate between patient, provider, and clinic to close the loop.
• Perform other duties as assigned; attendance required.
