ProgressiveHealth is seeking a Patient Experience Specialist to join our Marion, IL team. This in-office, full-time role focuses on front-office patient experience, scheduling, registrations, referrals, and insurance coordination. No prior experience required but preferred; strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least a year of related experience and/or training; medical office experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the entire shift.
• Professionalism in written and verbal communication.
• Strong computer skills including databases and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Adapt, learn, and multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling and recapturing appointments, missing in action patients, and pro-actively rescheduling appointments.
• Registering patients (check-in/out) and ensuring all information is complete and accurate.
• Coordinating with patient or referring physician to obtain referrals.
• Documenting referrals in appropriate logs.
• Scheduling initial evaluations and follow-up visits to yield optimal visits per treatment plan.
• Verifying patient’s insurance to ensure prior authorizations have been obtained.
• Educating patients about coverage and payment responsibilities for therapy services.
• Ensuring patients sign documentation related to insurance coverage for non-covered services.
• Collecting all monies due prior to each visit (co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, statements).
• Answering calls professionally and taking/delivering messages or routing to voicemail when needed.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Site Coordinator or Revenue Cycle/Patient Experience Coordinator.
