Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, typing, clerical skills and excellent telephone skills.
• Medical terminology and two year medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls promptly in a professional, helpful, and courteous manner.
• Maintain defined performance metrics as outlined in productivity standards.
• Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patients according to guidelines and policies.
• Verify and update patient information; make corrections in the computer.
• Ensure patients are registered properly and information is entered into the computer.
• Take messages for staff and providers; route messages per policy.
• Cooperate in cross-training of clinic specialties to ensure coverage.
• Process referrals in work queues and schedule patients.
• Orient new patients to the clinic and inform them of financial policies.
• Manage appointment requests.
• Assist supervisors with varied office duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
