Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System seeks a concierge specialist to act as the central communication link between patients, UMROI, and the community. You will answer questions, resolve complaints, and assist with patient comfort.

The role includes coordinating support services and reporting data on patient stays and staff responsiveness. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s preferred) and at least 3 years in concierge or related customer service, with CPR certification

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer operations (Microsoft Office) for reports and information retrieval.
  • Ability to set up and operate basic patient-care equipment.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal skills with courtesy and efficiency in answering questions and giving directions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as central communication link between patients, UMROI and the community; answer questions and resolve complaints.
  • Coordinate support and facilities services to ensure a comfortable environment for patients and visitors.
  • Provide information regarding hospital stay, services, travel, lodging and meals; assist with escort and parking as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of environment conditions and report adverse issues; collaborate with hospital services to ensure cleanliness and safety.
