Job summary

Hometown Health is seeking a Customer Engagement Representative to serve as the frontline contact for patients and community members. The role requires coordinating healthcare services, answering inquiries, and guiding customers through benefits and scheduling within HIPAA-compliant channels.

Candidates should have 2–3 years in customer service, healthcare, or health insurance; a college degree is preferred. Spanish language ability is a plus, and proficiency with MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English.
• A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience: 2–3 years in customer service, healthcare, or health insurance; Spanish language ability is a plus.
• Certified Medical Insurance Specialist is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service through multiple channels (in person, phone, video, chat, email).
• Schedule appointments, update patient records, obtain authorizations, and coordinate with care teams.
• Explain plan benefits, eligibility, referrals, and claims processes to customers.
• Handle inquiries, document accurately in systems, and resolve issues to achieve first call resolution.
