Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalency; or a two-year business degree with one year secretarial experience.
• Effective communication skills.
• Competency in basic medical assisting skills, interacting with patients, and ability to assess and communicate psychological observations.
• Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitment to providing excellent patient care.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred; strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Answering telephones politely and transferring calls to the appropriate dept/staff; take messages and distribute faxes.
• Check-in desk duties: verify patient information, direct patients, obtain signatures, and prepare lab slips.
• Administrative/Billing duties: collect fees, process payments, assist with billing and insurance; prepare records and correspondence.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports and assist in data collection as requested by clinic supervisor.
• Maintain supplies and inventory; ensure lobby area is clean and welcoming.
