Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals seeks a Patient Educator to deliver disease-state education to patients and caregivers, guiding them toward treatment options such as NUPLAZID®. You’ll work with advocacy groups, clinics, and community organizations to provide clear, actionable information.

You’ll collaborate with Patient Access Managers to address coverage questions, help with access, and facilitate transitions to ACADIA Connect.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or a related healthcare field (advanced degree preferred).
• 3–5 years of pharma experience with patient education, patient navigation, advocacy, or pharmaceutical patient support services.
• Knowledge of neurology, psychiatry, or movement disorders preferred; experience with Parkinson’s Disease or PDP strongly desired.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and reside near territory boundaries; driving and overnight stays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prescription disease state education to patients and caregivers via groups and presentations to advocacy groups and community organizations.
• Provide information on product efficacy, safety, and access through ACADIA Connect for patients/caregivers who opt in.
• Offer approved educational resources to help patients understand PDP and discuss with their doctor.
• Distribute approved educational materials to raise awareness of PDP and NUPLAZID®.
• Build trusting relationships to support patients and caregivers throughout their journey.
• Collaborate with Patient Access Managers to address coverage, reimbursement, and affordability questions.
• Facilitate the referral/transition to ACADIA Connect for comprehensive access assistance.
• Partner with Neurology and Long‑Term Care Sales Specialists to ensure community providers are aware of Patient Educator resources.
• Respond to inquiries from patients, caregivers, key customers, and advocacy groups; engage with community organizations.
• Collaborate with organizations and societies to support education programs.
• Provide feedback to marketing to improve patient engagement and education initiatives.
