Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Patient Educator to deliver disease-state education to patients and caregivers across multiple outreach channels in the DC area. You will partner with PAMs, neurology and sales specialists to address coverage, affordability, and access questions and to promote PDP awareness.

The role requires 3–5 years pharma experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and strong empathy, communication, and compliance awareness. Travel to patient events and conferences may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years pharma experience; patient education/navigation or advocacy preferred.
  • Knowledge of neurology/psychiatry/movement disorders; Parkinson’s Disease or PDP strongly desired.
  • Strong empathetic relationship-building; excellent communication and active listening.
  • Experience collaborating across marketing, patient support, advocacy, and field teams.
  • Familiarity with compliance standards for patient-facing pharmaceutical roles.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements (driving, overnight stays; air travel as needed).

Responsibilities

  • Provide information on product efficacy, safety, and access support through ACADIA Connect.
  • Offer approved educational resources to help PDP discussions with doctors.
  • Distribute approved materials to increase awareness of PDP and potential treatment with NUPLAZID.
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with Patient Access Managers on coverage, reimbursement, and affordability questions.
  • Facilitate patient referral/transition into ACADIA Connect.
  • Partner with Neurology and Long-Term Care Sales Specialists to ensure providers know about Patient Educator resources.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients/caregivers, key customers, community organizations, and advocacy events.
  • Collaborate with community/advocacy organizations and professional societies to support education programs.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing team to improve patient engagement and educational initiatives.
