Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals is hiring a Patient Educator to empower patients and caregivers navigating Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis. You will deliver compassionate disease state education and help patients access coverage and resources, including ACADIA Connect and PAMs.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field, 3–5 years pharma experience in patient education or navigation, and willingness to travel up to 75%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or a related healthcare field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of pharma experience with patient education, navigation, advocacy, or patient support services preferred.
• Knowledge of neurology, psychiatry, or movement disorders preferred; Parkinson’s PDP experience is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prescription disease state education to patients and caregivers via small group meetings and presentations to advocacy groups, community-based organizations, and professional societies.
• Provide information regarding product efficacy, safety, and access through ACADIA Connect to patients/caregivers who opt in.
• Offer approved educational resources helping patients discuss PDP with their doctor and understand PDP.
• Distribute approved educational materials to raise awareness of PDP and treatment with NUPLAZID.
• Build trusting relationships to support patients and caregivers throughout their journey.
• Collaborate with PAMs to address coverage, reimbursement, and affordability questions.
• Facilitate referral and transition to ACADIA Connect for access assistance.
• Partner with Neurology and Long-Term Care Sales Specialists to ensure providers are aware of the resources.
