Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Patient Educator to empower patients and caregivers navigating Parkinson’s Disease Psychosis (PDP). You will deliver disease state education, discuss treatment options including NUPLAZID®, and help patients access coverage and resources through ACADIA Connect.

The role requires 3–5 years in pharma education/navigation/advocacy, a healthcare bachelor’s degree, strong communication, and willingness to travel up to 75% across the territory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, or related healthcare field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of pharma experience with patient education, navigation, advocacy, or pharmacovigilance/patient support services.
  • Knowledge of neurology, psychiatry or movement disorders preferred; PDP experience strongly desired.
  • Proven ability to build empathetic, supportive relationships with patients and caregivers.
  • Travel availability; driving, overnight stays, and air travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-prescription disease state education to patients and caregivers via meetings and advocacy groups.
  • Provide information on product efficacy, safety, and access through ACADIA Connect.
  • Distribute approved educational materials to raise awareness of PDP and NUPLAZID®.
  • Collaborate with PAMs to address coverage, reimbursement, and affordability questions.
  • Partner with neurology and long-term care sales to engage community providers; respond to inquiries.
