Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a dedicated food service specialist to process patient diet orders and assist in meal delivery. You will interact with patients, families and clinical staff to ensure accurate diet administration and timely service in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include handling diet changes, coordinating tube-feeding orders, and supporting new employee training while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of automated information systems required.
• Ability to perform routine calculations and interpret orders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read physicians' orders and document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Identify and process correct diets and portions for all ages.
• Assess patient data to identify age-specific needs.
• Process patient diet orders and family-initiated orders.
• Receive diet change requests via phone, fax or computer and follow procedures.
• Coordinate delivery of tube feeding and oral supplements as ordered.
• Visit patients and families to take meal orders via computer system.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
• Contribute to cost containment through efficient use of time and supplies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
