Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health is seeking an administrative/dietary support role to assist in patient meal services. The incumbent processes diet orders using hospital software, adds tube feeding products and snacks into Mass Cash POS for timely delivery, and supports patients with menu selections via phone orders while updating diet changes for each mealtime.

Responsibilities include visiting or calling patients who need menu assistance and performing daily floor stocking.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in an administrative or clerical position.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Education or experience in nutrition or dietary requirements.
• Computer experience to include financial management software.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation for patient meal service by processing diet orders in hospital computer applications (TDS and Mass Cash POS).
• Enter all tube feeding products and snacks into Mass Cash POS for ready-at-time delivery to patient care units.
• Assist patients via telephone orders with menu selection and educate as needed per diet order.
• Update changes from diet sheets for each mealtime.
• Visit or call patients requiring assistance with menu selection and perform daily floor stocking duties.
