Job summary

Orthopaedic Specialty Group currently has an opening for a Receptionist in our Physical Therapy Department. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, verifying information, collecting co-pays, and scheduling appointments.

You will answer phones, coordinate with therapists and staff, and maintain a welcoming, confidential environment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred business training and 1 year of medical office receptionist experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with preferred business school/college.
• 1 year of experience in a medical office as receptionist/appointment scheduler is a plus.
• Computer literate and able to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
• Courteous, articulate, reliable with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Arrives patients via computer system; verify information and provide paperwork.
• Collect co-pays and obtain benefit information and referrals/authorizations if needed.
• Books, cancels and reschedules patient appointments.
• Answers phones and directs calls during busy times.
• Liaises between patients and staff, including therapists, PTA, and techs.
• Relays messages from patients to Therapists when applicable.
• Keeps waiting room neat and maintains patient confidentiality.
