Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care across clinical areas. You will assist with examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and treatment, while performing essential administrative duties under physician supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a Medical Assistant program, and eligibility/certification within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of medical assistant experience or completion of an externship.
• Demonstrates ability to maintain good communications and positive relationships.
• Working knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.
• Occasional evenings or weekend work and ability to float to other clinics.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Performs venipuncture, collects urine specimens, and lab tests according to procedures.
• Administers medications per policy and uses universal precautions.
• Gathers patient vitals and prepares examination rooms.
• Maintains safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care under supervision.
