Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care, examinations, and procedures in assigned clinical areas. You will perform related administrative duties, schedule appointments, verify eligibility for care and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification eligibility within 12 months, plus 3 years MA experience and current BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with MA program completion or eligibility for certification within 12 months.
• Certification through AMT, AAMA, NHA, or NAHP within 12 months of hire.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 3 years Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform administrative duties per policies and HIPAA standards.
• Record patient information and care actions accurately.
• Administer medications as directed and conduct basic testing (EKG, hearing, vision).
• Float to other clinics as needed and support coverage changes.
