Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care across assigned clinical areas. You will assist with examinations, procedures, testing, and dressing changes, under physician direction and within regulatory standards.

The role includes administrative duties and potential to float to other clinics as needed. Required are a high school diploma or GED, completion of a MA program, and eligibility for certification with AMT/AAMA/NHA/NAHP within 12

Qualifications

• Six months of medical assistant experience or completion of a medical assistant externship.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
• Knowledge of ICD9/10 and CPT coding and insurance procedures.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Record vital signs and prepare patients for examination.
• Support safe handling of specimens and medications per policy.
• Utilize EMR to document visits and coordinate care under physician supervision.
• Float to other clinic practices as needed and adhere to department schedule.
