Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System in Texas seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers in patient care across clinical areas. You will assist with examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and dressing changes under physician supervision.

You will perform administrative tasks, maintain accurate records, conduct vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, and help ensure HIPAA, CLIA, and safety standards are met. A Medical Assistant credential and BLS are required within a year.

Qualifications

• Education: HS diploma or GED; MA program completed or eligible for certification within 12 months of hire.
• Licenses/Certifications: CMA/RMA/CCMA/NRNCA (NRCMA) certified within 12 months; and BLS/CPR within 30 days of hire.
• Maintains required credentials.
• Experience/Knowledge: Six months of medical assistant experience or completion of externship.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate well and build positive relationships with patients, families, staff.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care under physician supervision in assigned clinical areas.
• Assists with examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies and dressing changes.
• Records vital signs, tests, and prepares patients for exams; uses EMR appropriately.
• Performs venipuncture, collects specimens, and conducts lab tests per policy.
• Handles administrative tasks and adheres to HIPAA, CLIA, and safety standards.
