Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus graduation from a Medical Assistant program or eligibility for certification within 12 months of hire.
• Certification required within 12 months: RMA, CMA, CCMA or NRCMA.
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and treatments.
• Record patient vital signs and enter data into the EMR; prepare patients for examination.
• Perform venipuncture, collect urine specimens, and complete lab tests per policy.
• Administer medications as directed using seven rights; monitor for reactions.
• Float to other clinic practices as needed and maintain positive working relationships.
