Job summary

One Medical in Connecticut is seeking a Float Medical Assistant (Lab Services Specialist/Member Support Specialist) to deliver venipuncture and clinical support, creating a seamless patient experience in-office and virtually.

You will handle front desk duties, scheduling, and billing inquiries while collaborating with providers and our virtual medical team. A 6-month MA/Phlebotomy background is required, with a focus on compassionate, client-centered care.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
• Strong customer service skills, including ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centred solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
• Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus).
• A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care.
• A proven track record of persisting through change, taking action on challenges, and learning quickly in new situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and basic laboratory services including specimen collection and processing.
• Support front desk operations: check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and scheduling tasks.
• Respond to patient messages and assist with billing inquiries and medical record reviews.
• Help with biometric screening forms and clerical duties for providers and virtual team.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient and employee areas; restock supplies.
• Master technology: Slack, G-Suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral and EMR systems.
