Advocate Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional, compassionate security services across our facilities. The role focuses on safety, de-escalation, and partnership with clinical staff to maintain a secure, welcoming environment for patients and visitors.

The position requires vigilance during interior and exterior patrols, quick response to emergencies, and the ability to report incidents clearly while collaborating with law enforcement and hospital teams.

Qualifications

• Must pass background investigation and drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to use a computer for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with professional, compassionate conduct per policies and training.
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor to inspire confidence in patients and staff.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols, identify hazards, and manage traffic and crowd control.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents of workplace violence, and combative or threatening individuals.
• De-escalate situations using approved methods; apply force only as a last resort per training.
• Investigate incidents on Advocate Health property and document findings clearly.
• Coordinate with departments and law enforcement; deliver security awareness education.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure site safety and policy compliance.
