Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an X-Ray Technician to perform digital radiographic studies on patients per provider orders. The role supports patient care under the direction of the provider, operating within scope of practice to ensure safe and accurate imaging.

Responsibilities include safe patient positioning, documentation in EMR, RIS/PACS operation, and travel to off-site facilities as needed. ARRT certification and BLS are required or preferred as noted.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification and registration required.
• State licensure preferred where applicable.
• BLS certification required or preferred upon hire.
• Associate degree in ARRT-accredited program preferred.
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care preferred.
• Experience with RIS, EPIC EHR and PACS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform provider-ordered radiographic examinations with proper patient positioning and radiation protection.
• Set up and adjust immobilization devices and ensure patient safety.
• Document patient encounters in EMR.
• Determine proper technical factors to safeguard patient and equipment.
• Travel to other facilities as needed; collect specimens; adjust hours as directed.
• Direct sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Assist with ordering supplies, lab/tests, patient registration, scheduling, triage, billing and scribing as needed.
