Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of procedures and standards related to patient care activities.
• Requires knowledge of infection control principles.
• Requires basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides a combination of direct patient care and unit clerical duties for the department under the direction of a Clinical Nurse.
• Ensures a clean and orderly environment for the patient and provides information and directions to physicians, patients, families, customers and vendors.
• May schedule tests and procedures for the patient and maintain patient records.
• May sign patients in and out of the unit and assist with ordering, receiving and delivering equipment and supplies.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention as required by the unit.
