Job summary

Indiana University Health, Inc. is seeking a full-time Day position that blends direct patient care with unit clerical duties. You will support the patient care team under a Clinical Nurse's direction and help maintain a safe, orderly environment for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include scheduling tests, updating records, and assisting with equipment orders while providing information to physicians and vendors. Some units may require suicide prevention observation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR may be required and Unit Secretary training may be completed.
• Previous acute patient care experience or completion of IU Health PCA program.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and unit clerical duties for the department.
• Administers care under direction of a Clinical Nurse and aids the care team.
• Maintains a clean and orderly patient environment.
• Provides information and directions to physicians, patients, families, and vendors.
• May schedule tests, maintain patient records, and sign patients in/out.
• May order, receive, and deliver equipment and supplies for the team.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention.
