Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a Full-Time Night Unit Secretary to provide a blend of patient care support and clerical duties within the department. Under the Clinical Nurse, you will assist with scheduling tests, maintaining patient records, and supporting the care team while keeping a clean, safe environment.

Ideal candidates will have acute patient care experience or completion of the IU Health PCA program, CPR/First Aid credentials, and basic computer skills to handle essential unit

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR certification through the AHA or IU Health PCA program may be required.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Knowledge of infection control principles expected.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of a Clinical Nurse and supports the patient care team.
• Ensures a clean and orderly environment for the patient; may schedule tests and procedures and maintain patient records.
• May sign patients in and out of the unit and assist with ordering, receiving, and delivering equipment and supplies.
• May provide continuous observation including suicide prevention as needed.
