Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound region seeks a Unit Coordinator to act as the central hub for patient care, handling processes from newborn to geriatric and serving as the department receptionist and secretary.

You will support safe patient care through multidisciplinary coordination, manage information flow, and assist team members across all ages, with strong organization and communication to ensure smooth admissions, discharges, and daily unit operations.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program.
• Military medical specialty training.
• Certified Nursing Assistant: WA.
• Basic Life Support - CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient personal care/hygiene and comfort, including feeding, bathing, changing clothes, bed making and mobility as required.
• Prepares patient, equipment and supplies for specific procedures/examinations.
• Performs, monitors, reports and documents all clinical activities within scope of practice and informs RN of changes in patient condition.
• Assists nursing staff in admission, discharge and transfer of patients (inventory, belongings, orienting patient/family, transport).
• Maintains a neat and organized work environment; orders, stocks and replenishes supplies; reports problems and coordinates repairs when needed.
