Job summary

Sentara Health is hiring Patient Care Technicians to float between Sentara RMH Medical Center, Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, and Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in the Western region. The role supports admission/discharge processes, assists with daily patient care, and performs tasks under nurse supervision.

Typical duties include taking vitals, drawing blood, bathing and ambulating patients, and catheter care.

Qualifications

• Must have one or more of the following certifications.
• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program.
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA).
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT).
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and perform routine patient assessments under nurse supervision.
• Support admission/discharge processes and daily care.
• Assist with bathing, turning, and ambulation of patients.
• Draw blood and perform basic phlebotomy functions.
• Provide Foley catheter care and routine patient assistance.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to meet patient needs.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly.
