Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Intensive Care Unit. This full-time night shift role involves assisting nurses with patient care, supporting admissions and discharges, and ensuring patient safety in a high-acuity environment.

You will work with a team of PCTs and RNs to provide compassionate care to critically ill patients, observe patient conditions, and communicate changes to the supervising nurse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One year of health care experience preferred.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.

Approximately 7pm to 7amDepartment/Position Overview:We are looking for a hospital experienced employee with compassion and great communication skills to work in this fast-paced environment with our most critical patients. Our 24 bed Intensive Care Unit has a variety of patients to include trauma, cardiac surgery, vascular, medical and surgical patients among other high acuity patients. Work alongside our experienced patient care technicians and RNs to perform intense patient care. Excellent customer service skills are needed to work closely with patients and their family members. Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
