Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital in South Boston, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for three 12-hour day shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. The PCT will work under a nurse's supervision to perform delegated nursing tasks and support admissions and discharges.

Responsibilities include observing patients, reporting changes, and adhering to patient safety practices. Eligible candidates typically hold a HS Diploma and relevant certifications such as CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, or Navy

Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.EducationCertification/LicensureMust have a HS Diploma and one of the following:Sentara Care Partner Certification ProgramSuccessful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and ParamedicCurrent student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)Current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
