Job summary

Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the third shift. You will assist with vitals, blood draws, daily patient care, admission/discharge support, and routine tasks under nurse supervision.

Preferred applicants have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and relevant certifications (CNA/NCMA/NCPCT). Direct care experience is a plus in a Magnet-designated hospital setting.

• Navy Hospital Corps School and related clinical training valued.
• RB clinical experience within last three years is a plus.

Overview:

As a Patient Care Technician with Sentara Health, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to provide the best care for our patients.

• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• Successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
• National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT)
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School
• Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
• Current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $18.93 - $27.41 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
