UPMC is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, vital signs, and a range of clinical tests such as phlebotomy and 12-lead EKGs as part of the nursing core assistant responsibilities.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred backgrounds in EMT/Paramedic programs or related healthcare training.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with patient care activities and nursing assistant responsibilities is essential.
• Preferred to have EMT or Paramedic training or active program enrollment.

Responsabilidades

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and activities of daily living.
• Assists with nursing core tasks and at least four BU identified advanced tasks.
• Reports changes in patient status to RN and communicates with health care team.
• Maintains equipment and communicates malfunctions to the appropriate department.
• Documents in the medical record according to established procedures.
• Supports safety policies and participates in department quality initiatives.
