Job summary

Virtua Health in Marlton, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse/LPN to assist with activities of daily living and support the plan of care. This role communicates with the healthcare team, patients, and families, upholding high ethical standards.

Duties include helping with bathing, dressing, mobility, vital signs, basic testing, and documentation; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs where certified; participates in education and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PCT, CNA, or RN foundational nursing course or 1 year direct patient care experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Phlebotomy training/education required for Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and plan of care.
• Take vital signs, perform point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley care; document changes; may perform phlebotomy and EKGs when certified.
• Reinforce education for patient and family on care needs and safety.
• Support Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Assist in orientation of new hires.
