Job summary

Virtua Health in Camden, NJ seeks a Patient Care Technician to assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN. You will support patients and families, and collaborate with the healthcare team while maintaining high ethical standards.

Responsibilities include ADL care, vital signs, phlebotomy/EKG when certified, and documentation. BLS is required; phlebotomy training for ED positions is a plus. Opportunities for growth are available.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates knowledge of basic patient care skills, procedures and standards.
• Must have strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, feeding, toileting/hygiene, mobility).
• Performs vital signs and point of care testing; bladder scanning and Foley care as appropriate.
• May perform phlebotomy and EKGs if certified; communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN.
• Reinforces education of patient and family regarding care needs and safety.
• Participates in Virtua patient satisfaction initiatives and goals.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Assists in orientation of new hires.
