Atlantic Health System in Summit, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting the basic needs of patients. Tasks include helping with activities of daily living, feeding, hygiene, and monitoring vital signs to ensure comfort and safety.

Duties also include performing EKGs, phlebotomy, glucose monitoring, assisting with mobility, and reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
• Performs post mortem care
• Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
• Other related duties as assigned.
