Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nurses and care teams in delivering compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily activities, and providing personal care under RN direction.

The role requires a High School diploma, ability to read/write, preferred CNA certification, BLS within 90 days, basic computer skills, and a patient‑focused, flexible team player.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read/write and perform basic math
• Desire to help people and/or aspiration to become a healthcare professional
• Basic computer skills (preferred)
• Medical terminology (preferred)
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Vital Signs
• Height and Weight
• Oxygen Saturation
• Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse
• Collecting various specimens for analysis
• Recording and measuring intake and output
• Providing patient care and assisting with daily activities
• Performing basic clinical procedures under supervision of RN
• Providing nutritional needs including assisting and ordering room service, setting up meal trays and feeding.
