Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver basic patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. You will assist with daily activities, monitor patients, and help ensure comfort and safety.

We’re looking for compassionate individuals with strong communication, basic math and computer skills, and a willingness to learn and grow within a team of nurses, technicians, and allied health staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math.
• Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional.
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
• Medical terminology (preferred).
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Vital Signs monitoring.
• Height and Weight measurement.
• Oxygen Saturation checks.
• Reporting all unusual observations to the nurse.
• Collecting specimens for analysis.
• Recording and measuring intake and output.
• Providing personal care and assisting with daily activities.
• Performing basic clinical procedures under RN supervision.
• Assist with nutritional needs including room service, meal tray setup and feeding.
