Job summary

Ascension is hiring for a Telemetry Nursing Unit role in Chicago, IL. You will deliver compassionate clinical care under supervision, assist patients with daily living activities, and help with positioning and mobility to support healing.

You will observe health changes, document accurately, and maintain a clean, safe environment across patient rooms and equipment, with rotating weekends/holidays as part of a 3 x 12 schedule.

Qualifications

• BLS required within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted).
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from Illinois, or Practical/Vocational Nurse credential, or Nurse Aide credential required prior to hire.
• HS diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable experience required.

• Assist patients with daily living activities, positioning and mobility to encourage healing and maintain personal safety.
• Observe and report key updates in physical, mental or emotional health to ensure rapid care adjustments and precise documentation.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized environment across patient rooms and medical equipment to support optimal clinical outcomes.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following:
• Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the Illinois Board Of Division of Emergency Medical Services and Highway Safety obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Intermediate or Advanced also acceptable.
• Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Illinois Department of Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Nursing student who has completed on semester of medical surgical nursing is also acceptable.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
