Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nursing staff with patient care delivery, clerical tasks, and unit environment maintenance. The emphasis varies by unit and requires collaboration with RNs to implement care plans.

Responsibilities include responding to calls within 10 minutes, performing vital signs, hygiene, mobility assistance, and accurate documentation using hospital systems. This role is part of a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Preferred 1 year of experience in a health care setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA DPH) required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required; if not held at hire, must obtain within 30 days and renew before expiration.

Responsabilités

• Respond to patient call within 10 minutes and anticipate needs.
• Proactively rounds to reduce patient calls and support RN with care plan.
• Maintain clean, organized patient rooms and assist with meals/feeding.
• Perform vital signs, daily weight, intake/output, and hygiene tasks.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, and patient safety equipment.
• Document care provided and communicate changes to RN/Charge Nurse.
