Qualifications

• CNA Certification or currently enrolled in Nursing program with basic clinical rotations completed.
• CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers).
• Minimum 90% on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes.
• Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.
• High school diploma required; one year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred with ability to relate to patients, family, nursing and medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Takes and records vital signs for adults and neonates.
• Collects specimens (urine, stool, blood, sputum) and performs phlebotomy.
• Provides newborn care including glucose checks and feeding support.
• Transports patients and equipment; handles routine post‑mortem care when needed.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment and supports RN in nursing care activities.
• Participates in staff meetings and quality improvement activities.
