Job summary

Highpoint Health- Sumner, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Respiratory Med-Surg unit. This full-time night-shift role supports patients with daily living activities, direct care, and monitoring. BLS must be completed within 30 days; TN CNA license preferred, EMT experience welcome.

Comprehensive benefits accompany a dedicated healthcare team. As a PCT you will observe patient changes, communicate with nursing staff, and assist with POC testing and EKGs

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• State TN CNA license preferred, can be considered without diploma.
• BLS required within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year certified nurse tech or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with direct patient care.
• Observe and record patient behavior and activities.
• Report changes in condition to nursing staff and suggest treatment modifications.
• Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.

Highpoint Health- Sumner has been providing quality health care to Middle TN for 65 years. Since opening in 1959, we have grown from one facility with just 50 employees and 7 physicians to a comprehensive health care leader in the community with more than 1,000 employees and 300 physicians. Today, we operate as a 167-bed healthcare facility and provide quality care in numerous areas of health care.

How you'll contribute

As a Patient Care Technician joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This includes:

• Assisting patients with performing activities of daily living
• Providing or assisting with providing direct patient care
• Observing and recording patient behavior and activities
• Reporting any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to treatment plans
• Assisting with POC testing and EKGs as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• State of TN CNA license preferred, can be considered without high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
• 1 year certified nurse tech or EMT experience preferred
