Highpoint Health Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas seeks a Certified Respiratory Therapist for a PRN role in Gallatin, TN. You will provide routine therapy, respond to emergent calls, monitor patient status, and educate patients and families about conditions and community resources.

Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Care Therapist with Tennessee license.
• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required.
• BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred.
• PRN role implies an as-needed schedule.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.
• Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition.
• Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
• Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
• Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
• Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
