Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a compassionate Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Highpoint Health Trousdale with Ascension Saint Thomas. The role focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities and direct patient care in a hospital setting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS within 30 days, and preferred CNA license with EMT/Nurse Tech experience. PRN schedule may include variable shifts and duties across units.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• State of TN CNA license preferred, can be considered without high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
• 1 year certified nurse tech or EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide or assist with direct patient care.
• Observe and report patient behavior and activities to nursing staff.
• Report changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition and suggest plan modifications.
• Assist with point-of-care testing and EKGs as needed.

Highpoint Health - Trousdale with Ascension Saint Thomas, formerlyTrousdale Medical Center, is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering an extensive range of in-patient, outpatient and emergency services for adults and children. Critical access hospital simply means that the hospital is critical in providing healthcare to our community.

How you'll contribute

As a Patient Care Technician joining our team, you're embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This includes:

• Assisting patients with performing activities of daily living
• Providing or assisting with providing direct patient care
• Observing and recording patient behavior and activities
• Reporting any changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff and suggesting modifications to treatment plans
• Assisting with POC testing and EKGs as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalentrequired
• State of TN CNA licensepreferred,can be considered without high school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
