Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Night Shift, full-time Post-Partum Couplet Care Patient Care Tech (PCT). You will assist patients with daily activities under supervision and help maintain patient comfort and safety.

You will monitor vital signs, document progress, transport patients, and support nurses with routine tasks. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days of hire; CNA/PCT certification or nursing school enrollment is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire.
• Preferred phlebotomy proficiency.
• CNA/PCT certification or paramedic certification or nursing school enrollment.
• Two years of acute or long-term care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ progress and report to Registered Nurse or medical staff.
• Obtain and record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record intake/output and assist with range of motion, and draw blood.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform duties which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.


• Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.


• Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.


• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.


• Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assist patients with range of motion, and draw blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.


• Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.


• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
