Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK is seeking a dedicated Cardiology Medical Surgical PCT for a night shift, full-time position. You will support nursing staff, assist with daily activities, and help ensure accurate vital signs recording and specimen collection.

Responsibilities include patient transport, basic housekeeping tasks, and cross-training across hospital services. BLS is required within 14 days of hire, with experience in acute or long-term care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer and prior to direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained)

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observe patients and report progress to RN or other medical staff.
• Record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Record intake/output and assist with ROM; draw blood when needed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Preferred Job Requirements

• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled
