Ardent Health Services in Tulsa, OK seeks a night-shift, full-time Orthopedic Unit Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patients with daily activities and collaborate with nursing staff. Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, patient transport, and ADL assistance.

Strong candidate will have a HS diploma or GED, BLS within 14 days, and phlebotomy skills. Preferred qualifications include two years in acute or long-term care, phlebotomy proficiency, and CNA/PCT/paramedic

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
• Phlebotomy proficiency preferred.
• Completion of CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or enrollment in nursing school.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing and eating.
• Observe patients’ progress and relay reports to RN or medical staff.
• Obtain and record vitals and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measure and record intake/output and assist with range of motion.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines and assists patients with range of motion.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
