Job summary

Southern Kentucky Rehabilitation Hospital, a Select Medical and Vibra Healthcare partnership in Bowling Green, KY, is seeking a Nursing Assistant. Schedule: Both shifts; compensation starts at $18.00 per hour based on experience.

This inpatient rehab hospital focuses on brain/spinal injuries, neurological and orthopedic care, and guiding patients through recovery. Responsibilities include assisting RN, transporting patients, dressing, feeding, and timely rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires hospital experience as a patient care technician, nursing assistant or experience in a related field such as a medical assistant or as an actively enrolled nursing student.
• Certified BLS or completion within first 90 days of employment required.
• Post offer employment testing (POETs) are completed as part of the onboarding process and are to be completed before an employee's first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Patient Care Technician performs routine tasks in patient care/assistance and documentation of care provided.
• Transports patients to and from various treatment areas when necessary; assists in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs.
• Performs services for the patient involving dressing, showering, bathing and oral feeding.
• Answers patient lights and performs services in a timely manner that adds to the physical well-being of the patient. Participates in patient turning/repositioning, performs purposeful hourly rounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
