Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System in Tulsa, OK seeks a day shift, full-time Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join Hillcrest Hospital South. This role supports RN-led patient care, performs CNA tasks, and contributes to a smooth unit operation with compassionate, patient-centered service.

The ideal candidate will assist with vital signs, transport patients, deliver meals, assist with hygiene, and respond to inquiries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform CNA duties and clerical tasks under RN and unit manager.
• Assist with vital signs, patient transport, meals, hygiene, and inquiries.
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, guiding to rooms, and chart prep.
• May act as receptionist, assign rooms, alert staff to arrivals, and help with supplies to keep nursing stations organized.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Perform CNA duties as well as clerical duties under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) and the unit manager
• Assist with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assists in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice
• Assist nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assist in transporting discharged patients and answer inquiries within the scope of practice
• May act as the unit’s receptionist, assign patient to room on board, alert nursing staff to patient arrival, pull and prepare chart; order and monitor utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assist with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized .

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
