Job summary

Hillcrest HealthCare System seeks a Cardiology Medical Surgical Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our Tulsa team. The role includes assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring vitals, and supporting nursing staff.

You will work under supervision in a fast-paced environment, providing essential patient care and transport, while documenting patient information for care coordination. A High School diploma and BLS are required, with preference for acute care experience.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required or obtained within 14 days of hire.
• Competence to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained).
• Minimum two years of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Observe patients’ condition and communicate findings to RN or medical staff.
• Record vital signs and collect specimens for lab tests.
• Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assist with intake/output measurements and range of motion as directed.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT

• Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
• Observes patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
• Obtains and records patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests.
• Provides basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
• Additionally, this position measures and records patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled
