Job summary

Hillcrest Hospital South in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Day Shift, full-time Medical Surgical Ortho Patient Care Tech (PCT). The role supports nursing staff with vital signs, transport, hygiene, and patient comfort in a dynamic unit.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days; CNA/PCT or paramedic certification or nursing school enrollment is preferred. This is a full-time, on-site position in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care tasks: obtain vital signs, transport patients, pass meal trays, assist with hygiene, and respond to inquiries within scope of practice.
• Support nursing staff: greet patients, escort to rooms, provide initial instructions, assist in transporting discharged patients, and answer inquiries within scope of practice.
• May function as unit receptionist: assign rooms, notify staff of arrivals, prepare charts, manage supplies, stock and keep nursing stations clean and organized.

Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:

• Assists with patient care tasks such as obtaining vital signs, assists in transporting patients, pass meal trays, deliver hygiene care and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• Assists nursing staff by receiving patients at the desk, taking the patient to appropriate room, gives initial instruction; assists in transporting discharged patients and answers inquiries within the scope of practice.
• May act as the unit's receptionist, assigns patient to room on board, alerts nursing staff to patient arrival, pulls and prepares chart; orders and monitors utilization of selected supplies: office, nutritional supplements, forms and retrieval chart back; assists with stocking supplies that are needed in the unit as well as assist in keeping the nursing stations clean and organized.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Two (2) years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Completion of approved CNA, PCT or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
