Job summary

Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Night shift Rehabilitation Unit Patient Care Technician (PCT). You will work with registered nurses to support patient care, monitor and document vital signs, respond to call lights, and assist with activities of daily living to maintain a safe environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and BLS within 14 days of hire; CNA/PCT or paramedic certification is preferred, with 2+ years in acute or long-term care and phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: CNA, PCT, or paramedic certification or currently enrolled in nursing school.
• Minimum of two years of experience in acute or long-term care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Work in partnership with the registered nurse to support patient care.
• Monitor patients at timed intervals, document data as directed, and report observations and patient concerns to the registered nurse.
• Obtain and record patients' vital signs accurately.
• Respond promptly to all call lights.
• Assist patients with mobility and basic tasks, such as bathing, dressing, eating and other ADLs.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
• Participate in purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report as directed.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care duties as assigned and may provide clerical support to assigned unit.
